contents pages

the conventions of a contents page in a music magazine.

NME contents page has a special section for bands called 'band index'

this makes it more convinient for the reader if there just interested in a

particular band.

It has a big section in te middle that takes up most of the page about Oasis. This may be that when the consumer looks to buy the magazine if they flick onto the contents page this will be the first thing they will see. therefor making them want to buy it. the articles are set in chronalogical order. the band index is in alphabetical order. this is because it helps the reader find the band they want quicker.

The contents page also has a an advert at the bottom saying subscibe today save 33%. this is there to encourage the reader to buy more of their magazine.

majoraty of the background colour is white. This is because the page is fulled with so much information it would look to over crowded if the backround was a dark colour.

On the Q contents page, like the front cover its not as busy as the NME front cover and contents page.
-the colours are simple and co-ordanated. the main picture is dominating and eye catching. the colour clothes he's wearing contrasts with the background and title. This is so it looks like it fits in more. The date is clearly written at the top, this is to show exactly when this was published and how in date it is.
